• Scaffolding inspector is requested to inspect all scaffolds erected within the boundaries of Company LNG plant to ensure they are suitable for safe use by others, and comply with the relevant industrial standards, and Company permit to work procedures.
• His duties will be to inspect and assess the condition of the scaffolding material and approve the erection of the scaffold assembly and ensure their compliance with the correct standards applied by Company, as well as the requirements of the general Company permit procedures, relevant to scaffold assemblies and, so act as the performing authority in this context.
• He will also maintain a record of the condition of all scaffolding materials and assemblies to ensure that they are maintained correctly and dispose of, the damaged or defective materials.
• He will provide advice on the suitability of specialized scaffolds supplied by contracting companies to meet the health and safety requirements of Company, with regard to design and access in case of plant upset conditions.
• Provides technical advice on scaffolding works and participate in work requiring higher level skills.
• Ensures that all works are executed to high standards and meet all required safety standards.
• Organizes and directs day to day scaffolding activities on various site as required for maintenance works.
• Continuously updates and orders spare requirements as necessary.
• Records and updates a register for scaffolding material movement and locations. This includes supervision of materials kept in Stores area.
• Provides estimates for labour requirements for major scaffolding works, including works to be carried out by Contractors.
• Ensures that materials for scaffolds are marked and kept in good condition.
• The Supervisors should be qualified to inspect and certify and scaffold works done by other clients Offshore locations.
• The Supervisors will train Clients maintenance supervisors on building simple scaffold work.
• In addition to the foregoing, they must have a flexible attitude towards assigned working areas and be prepared to dl all aspects of the work as required and assist in other areas to meet operational or exceptional circumstances as directed by client. They will be expected to work under similar conditions as those experienced by client’s employee of same category.

The scaffolding inspector should have a minimum qualification of:

• Secondary Certificate (Technical or General).
• Hold “Advanced Scaffolder Certificate” C.I.T.B as issued by Bircham Newton or Equivalent.
• Hold “Advanced Scaffolder Certificate” CISRS.
• NVQ Level 3 Scaffolder with a relevant approved /validated record card.
• 6 years experience in scaffolding work of offshore platforms and including at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
• Good knowledge of English.

Hours of Work & Leave Accrual

The supervisors will be required to observe the clients working arrangements, 12 hours of work a day /7 days a week, plus such additional hours as may be necessary to suit operational, safety or emergency circumstances. There will be no additional payment for weekends, public holidays overtime working or time off in lieu thereof.

The Supervisor will undertake a 29/27 days work/leave cycle i.e. they will be accruing leave at the rate of 27 days (inclusive of weekends, holidays and travel times) for every 29 days spent on site at work. However leave timings will be subject to operational needs and requirements.
